Glassfish v2 / Netbeans 6Beta1 & log4j

Hi,

I've upgraded to Netbeans 6Beta1 and everything works great. I have a problem deploying an EAR file though. It seems that log4j configuration is not available somehow. I'm getting :

log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger (org.hibernate.cfg.annotations.Version).
log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly.

Of course, the log4j and commons-logging libraries are available at the server (and domain) lib directory. The log4j.properties is available in a JAR inside the lib dir of the EAR. I've tried the steps at http://wiki.glassfish.java.net/Wiki.jsp?page=FaqCongifureLog4J to no avail. Any help? It must be some trivial issue

Regards,

You may want to disable directory deployment and see if that helps resolve this issue.

You will need to select your target server in the Runtime explorer. Use the Properties item from the right-click menu. Select the Options tab to find the checkbox that controls directory deployment.

You will need to undeploy your app, too. Expand the domain node along this path:
/Applications/Enterprise Applications. Right click on your app's node and select undeploy.

If this helps please let us know. If it doesn't, please let us know.

Sorry, it didn't. I tried to undeploy and deploy it several times with a couple of restarts in the middle and nothing.

Any more ideas?

Does the application work correctly if you deploy the ear file with asadmin or the admin console?

It deploys but no logs are shown. So it is not a Netbeans problem it seems. Something to do with Glassfish? The EAR deploys correctly in Weblogic and deployed as a WAR (the EAR just contains one WAR inside) I'm quite sure it works fine in other versions of Glassfish (part of the development team works this way).
