Hi,

Many of the more recent containers don't require a web.xml and the charting application does not use the XMLHttpProxy.

If you want to create a jMaki project it might be easier to download the jMaki Plugin as described at:

https://ajax.dev.java.net/jmaki-plugin.html

Then you can add the jMaki Charting widget to the jMaki Pallete

https://jmaki-charting.dev.java.net/files/documents/6303/51989/jmaki-cha...

The description on how to add this is discussed at:

http://weblogs.java.net/blog/ludo/archive/2007/01/extending_the_j.html

When you create an application using the plguin it will create a web.xml file for you.

I will also add a web.xml to the next version of the jmaki-charting sample. Thank you for pointing this out.
