I am working on to create small application for PIM synchronization using bluetooth.

I have read it some where that Synchronization profile is used for this.

So my question is whether phoneME supports this Synchronization profile?

Hi,

Yes, there is a Bluetooth profile called Synchronization Profile (SYNC or SP). It's based on GOEP profile and enables synchronization of calendar and address information (i.e. PIM items) between Bluetooth enabled devices.

At this moment phoneME doesn't support this profile.

There are several reasons for that:
1) This profile may not be support by underlying native Bluetooth stack on particular platform (phoneME utilizes the platform's BT stack).
2) By default phoneME uses own DB to store PIM data thus there is no connectivity between native PIM DB (if any) that could be synchronized by SYNC profile (if supported on the platform) and phoneME PIM DB. Certainly phoneME defines a PIM porting layer that allows phoneME to be integrated with platform's PIM DB but anyway a lot of work need to be done while porting phoneME to particular platform.

Thanks for this reply.

Can you please tell me what all profiles are supported by JSR82?

I have gone through specification, but it says it supports protocols such as L2CAP, RFCOMM, etc. But no where it is mentioned about profiles supported by JSR82 on phoneME.
