Yahoo - Autocompletion - Encoding Problem - patch

Using the jMaki Yahoo autocompletion wrapper I had the problem that the container with the proposed completions did not pop up at all when using Internet Explorer (FireFox was fine) in the case of containing the special characters "ü, ä, ö".

Setting the character encoding explicitly by adding the line in jmaki.faces.yahoo.AutoCompleteHandler [pre]response.setCharacterEncoding("UTF-8");[/pre] fixed the problem.

Could somebody please check this solution/workaround and update the source code accordingly.

Thank you,

Matthias

P.S. The patched solution runs in our prototype application HumanTree.org.

Thanks for the fix Matthias. However, I'm currently on vacation so won't be able to check it in until after I get back. Perhaps someone on the dev@ajax.dev.java.net list can do it or will give you commit access. I'd post this patch to the dev list if you don't hear from anyone. As I understand it, engineers who run the project like Greg (who is easy to work with) are looking for contributers to help out.

Where are you setting the encoding at?

I'll look into this but it would be quicker if you could point me at the correct file.

Thank you,

-Greg
