Ext.tree [object Object] error

I'm trying to make a ext.tree jMaki widget with populated nodes by using service which should retrieve the tree structure from a servlet. The servlet has this in the processRequest() method:

out.println("{root : {" +
"title : 'Ext Tree Root Node'," +
"expanded : true" +
"}}");

The page with the ext tree works but it gives a pop-up error saying " The page at ... says: [object Object]. Also I notice that the root node name doesn't get set (I tried having the servlet return a result with children, copied the code form the netbeans template and the children are shown but otherwise I gives the same error). I can't find an obvious error with firebug.

If I swap the Ext.tree for a dojo.tree with service the error doesn't show.

Thanks!

Hi Gkoreselman,

jMaki .9.6 (coming before or around July 25) will fix this. Good news is we have done a total re-write of the Ext, Yahoo, and Dojo Tree widgets to all follow the data models listed at:

http://wiki.java.net/bin/view/Projects/jMakiTreeDataModel

With the new widgets you will be able to use the exact same data and get the same data as described in the model page.

If you are interested in working with an early access build I could post one.
