FW: Difference in Files

3 replies [Last post]
Anonymous

I am using the SDCard to store files and send them to a server via HTTP
Post. I have these two files, 70_755770810 works fine but 70_735770810
causes the phone to slowly turn the screen white with lines and then reboots
the phone. I cannot see any difference between these files, how can I check
for any hidden characters that may cause errors

I am using the FileConnection in J2ME

Thanks

I deleted the entire string so I only have t1='' and it worked. Do you see
anything similar in this file, how did you find it had an extra %

Thanks

You can try base64 encoding and posing the data.

Is the file getting interpreted by the server?

Check if this is causing any problem.

It never makes it to the server,

70_755770810 was created with the IDEN emulator and then copied to the
microSD

70_735770810 is created on the phone with

FileConnection conn = null;
try {
conn = (FileConnection) Connector.open(name);
if(!conn.exists()) {
conn.create();
} else {
//OutputConnection conn = (OutputConnection) Connector.open(name +
";append=true", Connector.WRITE );
}

OutputStream out = conn.openOutputStream();
PrintStream output = new PrintStream( out );
output.println(log);
out.close();
conn.close();

} catch( ConnectionNotFoundException e ){
errorMessage = e.getMessage();
return false;
} catch( IOException e ){
System.out.println("error" + e.getMessage());
errorMessage = e.getMessage();
return false;
} finally {
conn = null;
}
