The more I think about this case the more it seems that we should fix
this so that TCK teams might safely upgrade to the new version and be
productive sooner than later. We already know about incompatibility,
and we should fix it. Agree?

ME FW 1.2 requires JDK 1.5, which could complicate transition to the
new version. Compilation failures would just add more.

Vladimir,

I've not strong opinion here and changes by itself is good. But it seems
to me that such compilation errors quite the contrary may help TCK
developers. It's like a strict definition of variables - compile errors
shows something wrong in design. I leave to you to decide.

Thanks,
Alexander

Vladimir,

do we really need to fix such regressions if it's only compile time
problem? May be more preferable way to fix TCK build?

Thanks,
Alexander

Alexander,

My understanding that this is also a runtime problem.
The test suite tries to acces the API which is not present.
