Feedback on menu data model

Hi,

Before we ship a final release of jMaki I'd like to get feedback on the data models for the various widgets. I'm currently working on the jMaki menu data model and have notes on the following page:
http://wiki.java.net/bin/view/Projects/jMakiMenuDataModel

I wanted to get feedback from users in case something is missing or just wrong. At the bottom of the wiki page I used BNF (more accurately BNF-like) notation to describe the model for the menu. I will try and add a few examples to the page based on the spec to help make things clearer. At this point, I'm asking for feedback on the Menu data model.

Just a note that we are reviewing all the other data models too over the next few weeks. None of the others have been spec'd out more formally but you will find the wiki pages here:
http://wiki.java.net/bin/view/Projects/jMakiDataModels

Send comments to the dev list devatajaxdotdevdotjavadotnet or email me at carlavmottatdevdotjavadotnet

Thanks,

Carla

Currently, in the jMaki menu, "url:" is used to go to the dcontainer.
In your new model:
"url:" is a link to refresh the page.
"publish:" will put the result from "" into the dcontainer.

Will you do the same with dojo.tree? Example, change the following:
name="dojo.tree"
value="{root:{title: 'Node 1 :)',expanded: true, children: [
{title:'Node 1.1', onclick:{url:'newPage.jsp'}},
{title: 'Node 1.2',
children: [
{title:'Node 2.1'},onclick:{url:'toPub.jsp'}
{title: 'Node 2.2'}
]}
] }}"

** To:
name="dojo.tree"
value="{root:{title: 'Node 1 :)',expanded: true, children: [
{title:'Node 1.1', onclick:{url:'newPage.jsp'}},
{title: 'Node 1.2',
children: [
{title:'Node 2.1'},onclick:{publish:'toPub.jsp'}
{title: 'Node 2.2'}
]}
] }}"

Also, BNF is good documentation.
Thanks...

Hi tigerfarm,

The plan is to go through all the data models, clean them up and make them consistent where possible. I think that Craig McClanahan said he wanted to drive the data model for trees. We want to get these models settled for the 1.0 release.

Expect to see requests for feedback on the other models here on the forum soon.
Thanks for you feedback.
