HDcookbook.dev.java.net project will be removed and re-created

Dear all,

I have some slightly bad news. In order to convert to
Subversion source-code management, their new policy is
to require that the project be completely removed, and
re-created from scratch. This means that hdcookbook.dev.java.net
will be completely re-initialized.

I'll do my best to re-subscribe everyone to the
announce and bd-j-dev aliases, and to add back all the members.

This should happen within days.

Thanks for your understanding,

Bill

OK, hdcookbook.dev.java.net has now been converted to Subversion source code control (SVN). I think I've restored it to where it was, and re-subscribed people to the important alias, which is bd-j-dev@hdcookbook.dev.java.net .

By the way, the hdcookbook/GRIN code there is now version 0.9. It's most of the way there to being the BD-J xlets that will be on the disc that comes with the book. I'm planning to call that version 1.0.

The code there now has tons of new features, like an automatic image mosaic creator, better font support and an improved GRIN show viewer for PCs. It also has the three xlets that will be on the disc with the book, including a shooting game called "Gun Bunny."

What it doesn't have is much documentation at all. I'm madly getting the book finalized, and it's due in two weeks. After I get all the code working, I'll be adding in documentation; it's really the documentation that will differentiate version 0.9 from 1.0

Please let me know of any problems with the new SVN repository.

Cheers,

Bill

Bill,

Who told you this...I've converted projects by just doing the other once
or twice before. Before you take this action let me see what I can do.
