Hello There

I download the JSR239 sources but i found that i need a OpenGL-ES SDK to provide the background implementation of the API

Which SDK can i use in a Linux Box ?
Which SDKs are you using for other platforms ?

Hi Vineet,

You can get the JSR239 sources using svn from https://phoneme.dev.java.net/svn/phoneme/components/jsr239/trunk.

Hi Marlonj.

Thanks for your interest! For Linux Box as well as for other platforms one can use the PowerVR OpenGL ES drivers by the Imagination Technologies. For Symbian and Windows platforms another option is to use the Hybrid (Rasteroid) implementation.

I hope it helps you. Please feel free to ask if you have any further questions.

Hi Pavel,
I have a software based implementation of openGL-ES from Vincent 3D.
Currently I don't have h/w accelerated open GL ES.

Pls let me know if there is any problem.

My assumption is JSR-239 should provide you a hook to openGL ES API , independent of
how those API are implemented (hardware or software based).

Is my assumption correct ?

Hi Vineet,

Yes, you are right, JSR-239 implementation is independent of whether the underlying OpenGL ES implementation is software of hardware. Our implementation was tested on the pure software Hybrid/Rasteroid OpenGL ES implementation.
