Hi,

I am currently updating my old P2P code to the pavlova beta version, as I hope it will solve a few problems I faced earlier. Currently I am trying to establish a connection between two peers on a joint peergroup. Both applications run on the same computer (but different JVMs) and one of the applications has started the jxta network using the new class NetworkManager (startNetwork method).
When I start the other application, the network manager throws an exception:

SEVERE: Could not start server
org.mortbay.util.MultiException[java.net.BindException: Address already in use: JVM_Bind]
at org.mortbay.http.HttpServer.start(HttpServer.java:640)
...

The cause is evident, as the port is already taken.
My question is, what the effects are of changing the port (which I assume is done in the configurator).
Are there limits to the ports that are used? Are there any issues I should take in account? Or should I do something else?

Any help would be welcome!

Thanks

Kees

OK,

The answer to this question was fairly simple: just get the networkconfigurator and set the http port differently for each jxta application that is started
