Can i compile cldc for arm-linux by crosscompiling arm-linux-gcc?

I'm using arm-linux-gcc for crosscompiling since I don't have monta vista. I got error.
/usr/mywork/jwc/cldc/src/vm/share/utilities/GlobalDefinitions_gcc.hpp:35:20:
ctype.h: NO such file or directory
string.h:no such file or directory
...
I hava set the environment in file 'etc/profile':
GNU_TOOLS_DIR=/usr/mywork/kvm/cross/usr/local/arm/3.4.1/arm-linux
PATH=/usr/mywork/kvm/cross/usr/local/arm/3.4.1/arm-linux/include

I have found the ctype.h string.h... in the /usr/mywork/kvm/cross/usr/local/arm/3.4.1/arm-linux/include but why the compilor can not find these files?

ok,it works .
This is because when you are building cldc , it use gcc-i386 to build some tool and something at first. This will be used by compiling dist.
I use arm-gcc to compile all thing . this is problem .

You can try build with evn var VERBOSE_BUILD=true.
It will enable build tracing including full command lines.
You can look at the command line for compilation that triggered these errors.
It should contain include paths specified.
