Shifting of highlights in Search topics

Hello,
When using the Search feature in Java Help, the highlight for the search
term in a topic is shifted or offset. Actually, the further down the
highlighted term is, the more pronounced the shifting. It seems like the
internal indexing is missing characters or something.

IÂ’m using JavaHelp 2.0.0_04 and 1.5 and 1.6 Sun JVM.

Anyone know how to get around this issue?

Thanks,
Leo

Roger,
Thanks for the reply.

We build using JavaHelp 2.0.4 and JVM 1.6.

When the help file is viewed on a system using JVM 1.4.2, the highlighting
looks fine.

When the help file is viewed on a system using JVM 1.5 or 1.6, the
highlighting problem occurs.

Not sure what to do next other than wait for a patch. I hope that comes
soon because searching is key to our help system.

Brett,
Thanks for the feedback. I reviewed the link page from your reply that
describes the bug. The page includes the following text:

Fix is available for 2.0_05 workspace. Now awaiting details for
integration.

Does this sound like a fix is available?

thanks again,
Leo

Leo,

Sounds like a patch is coming with the next JavaHelp release (2.0_05?).
I don't know the estimated release date though.

Thanks,
Brett

Leo,

I know the issue is confirmed and there is a bug out there for it.

I wish it'd be fixed, but at least search is somewhat accurate :/

Try rebuilding the search database with the version of the JDK that you
are using.
