I've installed the latest Netbeans jMaki plugin and noticed that the entire suite of dhtmlgoodies widgets gone missing!

Is this intentional or just a bug in packaging the plugin?

I'm using the dhtmlgoodies.tooltip and found it much more powerful from Yahoo's one. It'll be sad if jMaki no longer support dhtmlgoodies widgets.

I need a little hand holding with the url arg.

I looked at the jsp in the patch download. I understand the static part and it works like a charm.

I don't understand the dynamic part. I just get the default tool tip, not the contents of tooltip1.jsp. I dont see url in the widget.json

Hi,

Yes, you are right that dhtmlgoodies are not included in jMaki .9.1 or .9.2. We moved
the widgets to the widgets project. During the move we only brought in widgets that
we thought were polished or supportable. So we didn't move all widgets and that
was intentional. A new Yahoo tooltip was recently added. Is that the one you
are saying is not as useful.

Thanks,
Carla

Hi Carla,

The dhtmlgoodies tooltip allows fetching external web pages as tooltip content and this is very handy.

I did have a look at the yahoo tooltip included in jMaki Netbeans plugin. Firstly, I couldn't get it to work (the html template is empty) and I checked the YUI web site and it seems to me the yahoo tooltip is only capable of displaying static text, unlike the dhtmlgoodies tooltip.

I hope that the dhtmlgoodies tooltip will be included in jMaki as it's versatile & flexible to use.

Thanks,
Thomas

Hi,

I am the current owner of the yahoo.tooltip widget. I saw what you currently need and i will try to enhance the yahoo.tooltip widget to achieve same dynamic behavior hopefully before the final 1.0 release. And you're right it is sure handy to display dynamic content on the fly in a tooltip.

Thanks for your feedback,

The issue is fixed now. You can get the latest widget code by downloading the attachment in issue tracker [https://widgets.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=10]. Next release will include the fixed yahoo.tooltip (which is soon).

Yahoo's Tooltip is more powerful since you can specify multiple elements and attach it into one jmaki yahoo.tooltip widget. You can do effects like Fade, slide or both. You can now display html static text or dynamic pages [as you requested]. I tested it over Firefox 2+, IE7 and Opera and it works ;-)

Please Check out the JSP unit tests for examples [in issue #10 attachment, jsp directory].

Please let me know if you need anything else,
-Ahmad
