The ubuntu installation instructions don't work on kubuntu 7.04. I used synaptic. It has trouble installing lg3d-jdk (lg3d-core depends on it).

----------------
Unpacking lg3d-jdk (from .../lg3d-jdk_1.6.0+b104_i386.deb) ...
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/lg3d-jdk_1.6.0+b104_i386.deb (--install):
subprocess pre-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
/var/cache/apt/archives/lg3d-jdk_1.6.0+b104_i386.deb
------------

I already have JDK 6 installed on this PC. I will try downloading the .bin file and try that way. This laptop already has Beryl running on it (i.e. graphics card is setup ok).

The mega bundle installer (i.e .bin) worked. I just copied (cp -r) the contents of lg3d directory created by it to / and added it to KDM window manager list. It works.
