I am trying to use the new version of Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (5.0) and my Java was successfully updated to 1.6, but those two are not working right on my computer and on some others (running winxp with SP2 and MSIE 6). I figured that computers with Java 1.4 run the Ingenuity analysis just fine but i have no idea how to revert back to that former version. Could someone please help me?
thanks
Lila

If this is specific to the tool you're working on, why not ask in the relevant forums (of that tool)?

You are right. I had asked them. They suggested to revert to a former version and also told me i would have to rebuild the system (!!!!) for that. I found that insane....i hope there is another way to do it.

The normal procedure to revert the version of java installed on a system is to uninstall the later versions using the Add/Remove programs feature of the windows control panel.
each version and update of java previous to 1.6.0_10 installs as a separate program.
If the earlier version of java is not on the client machine you can install older versions at http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/previous.jsp
