RE: [JAVAHELP] problem with jhindexer command

Hi,

It is to do with the path to the folder where the HTML files are, and where you want the JavaHelp search database created.
There are spaces in your path so you need to put quotes around the various folders that are used.

I put some HTML files in a folder called jhindexertest and tried a couple of things out.

Here are two ways around your problem:

1. At the command prompt, navigate to the folder where the HTML files are and enter the following command (if jhindexer is in your PATH):

jhindexer .

or, in my case to run the exact jhindexer command which is installed in a particular location:

java -jar "C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\jh2.0\javahelp\bin\jhindexer.jar" .

2. At the command prompt enter the jhindexer command and specify the folder where the HTML files are and the search database folder to create:

jhindexer "C:\Documents and Settings\jon\My Documents\jhindexertest" -db "C:\Documents and Settings\jon\My Documents\jhindexertest\jhelpsearch"

or, in my case to run the exact jhindexer command which is installed in a particular location:

java -jar "C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\jh2.0\javahelp\bin\jhindexer.jar" "C:\Documents and Settings\jon\My Documents\jhindexertest" -db "C:\Documents and Settings\jon\My Documents\jhindexertest\jhelpsearch"

Hope that helps,

Thanks

Jon
