I finally got a chance to play around with wonderland over the weekend (and after your animation integration post realised that I hadn't waited until the streamed data was download last time I tried) - it all looks great. Its nice to see what Sun puts into their stands as I've only seen the Sun stand at Gitex a couple of years ago.

After a couple of restarts (I was changing the movement control - I hate the mouse look - I'm used to the mouse dragged events tied to button 3 to look - like what is used in some of the RPGs like World of Warcraft) I noticed the lg3d taskbar float in space at the start point - clicking on the items loaded the appropriate programs in X11. The question I had was - is there plans to get wonderland running in the equivalent of lg3d-app mode? I couldn't see anything in the build.xml I guess it would be particularly interesting if there was some way of performing it as a collaboration task - e.g. you pull your trusty firefox out of your tool belt and be able to search within the context of wonderland and show your search results to the world.

Yes, shared X11 applications are coming soon (the next few weeks). The architecture supports running the apps on an X11 desktop machine, or from a server. Fro JavaOne we will be focused on running them on a server because we will be demoing on a mixture of clients.

Regardless of where the app is run everyone in the virtual world will be able to see it and interact with it (you will be able to restrict access of course).

Hey Kirk, if you have the new control behavior working like WoW I'd be keen on integrating it. I'm sure everyone will have their own favourite but have a good range of basic controls available will be cool

Ok I'll create a patch. I just hacked up the main avatar control at
the moment - I'll make it an option instead and find a nice way to
switch them round.
