Dojo ETable

Your forums have helped me populate the ETable with data dynamically from the server using a servlet. This has been a great help. However, I would like to know what the recommended procedure would be for sending edited data back to the server.
For example, say that data is extracted from a database and sent to the etable via a servlet. How do we then send edited data back to the database via the servlet.

The best way would be to create a common JavaScript function that would listen to event from the Dojo Etable and then use an XmlHttpPost to send the data back to the server.

A centralized location would be most beneficial. The Comet Sample Application uses this technique which you can download from

The source file in question may be found here:*checkout*/ajax/ws/jmaki/samples...

Let me know if this is not enough and will try to provide a better example.

Yeah. I thought that there may have been a more implicit way to do it than that. I thought that there would be some way to tie in AJAX enabled events to a specific servlet. I just thought actually writing XmlHttpPost calls would bypass some inbuilt backend tie in....which I now know doesn't exist :)

Thanks for the reply.
