Re: CLDC integration standard

Hi,

There's no such API between VM vendors. Each vendor has its own specific
API.

Some kind of exception is that one JSR engine from 3rd supplier (such as
JSR 184, etc) is integrated in different VMs. In this case, yes, there
will be the same API between VM vendors, that is that 3rd component API
:) Of course if you get other JSR engine (say HI mascot capsule against
Superscape Swerve) you will get different API as well.

Since most of VMs are not open sourced, I would consider firstly porting
SUN's RI.

Subject: CLDC integration standard

we are developing an integration mechanism for porting JSR's (say VM's,
CLDC, MIDP etc) by different providers like access, aplix, openware and
teo etc I am unaware of the porting api's provided by these people.
our target platform is nucleus Plus .Please help me in this regard and
let me know if there is any standard porting mechanism for different JSR
providers. i.e. do they all follow the same standard api's to port their
jsr's on any platform?
if i ask the question in another angle then it would be like this;
different companies as mentioned above provide their VM's. do they
follow the same standard i.e. defined by sun. if so then we can define a
generic porting mechanism for porting VM's on a platform. other wise it
would be difficult.

Ali
