Sony Erricson P990 Crash issue

Hi all,

I have been working on the P990 with a couple of applications and have come
across this issue where the device seems to crash without any reasoning. I
have noticed that even on some of the embedded J2ME applications the crashes
are present. Me and a few people have tried later firmware upgrades and
noticed this slightly alleviated the problem. Can anyone tell me why this
might be happening? Is it fixable ? Or is it a Hardware Issue? I have been
told by some colleagues that some other UIQ 3.0 devices suffer the same
problems including the m600i and the w950i. Surely devices with there own
separate graphics CPU should be a little more stable ? Or its this the route
of the problem?

Regards

James

Not sure whether this is related or not but we have had to reformat the internal storage of both our m600 and p990 due to both of them getting stuck in a boot loop with a message like 'your phone has rebooted to improve performance.' After reformatting they have both worked fine, even the m600 that seems to have this problem the most.
