Hi Chris,

this may happen if the default encoding on the phone is iso-8859-1 or
similar for some reason, and you are not forcing utf-8 encoding when
transferring the string to the byte array and back.

In both cases you can force utf-8 by appending an additional String
parameter "UTF-8".
