Hi,
Can i use midp2.0 platform services for calling native mediaplayer?
(Ex: platformRequest("video1.gpp").

Is it a working solution on most devices?

Tnx

Hi Piero,

if the file is on the device already: I did not find a single device
that supports "file://" URLs in platformRequest, although this seems to
be a quite straight-forward solution. I performed the tests at the end
of the summer 2006 on about 10 different devices, most of them popular
Nokia, Motorola and SonyEricsson models at the time.

If you are trying to open the media player for a remote file (video,
image etc.) via http://, it works in many cases. However, rtsp:// may
not work, even if supported in the native player, probably for the same
reason as "file://" (protocol not recognized in the implementation of
platformRequest).

Best regards,
