XML validation using Schema?

I'm sorry if this is a rather obvious question but I'm only starting to explore FastInfoset and the documentation I could find was rather scarce.

I understand that FastInfoset does not support the JAXP 1.3 spec yet but I was wondering exactly how FastInfoset performs validations? Is it possible to make it such that a FI document can be validated using a Schema (.xsd)? I've heard mention of Vocabulary but am unsure of what it is.

Thanks for any help provided.

The Fast Infoset implementation does not support JAXP (mainly from a factory perspective of parser instantiation).

The Fast Infoset parsers perform no Schema validation. The 'vocabulary' in FI terminology is a set of information that is associated with a FI document (that can be generated from a Schema) but does not aid schema validation.

You can validate with the FI parsers by using the JAXP Validator, see the package javax.xml.validation, in conjunction with org.jvnet.fastinfoset.FastInfosetSource instance.
