Hi,

I saw this article today :

http://www.oreillynet.com/onjava/blog/2006/11/thoughts_on_data_binding_a...

It talks about jsr 295, a negative view, and how should be a binding framework.

Anyone can share his/her thoughts about it ?.

Diego.

Folks,

I realize it's taken far longer than anticipated for beans binding to
gain steam, and I apologize for that. Look for that to change soon.

As we've not seen the spec or the code its pretty hard for anyone outside of the swingteam to comment. Reading the proposal I have been wondering whether it'll allow for the buffering of model changes - much like jgoodies does. The proposal just talks about keeping beans in sync which you could do manually or with propertylisteners with some effort just as the article author says.

I tend to find buffering a change to a single setter too limiting and I need to replay changes to my object model instead. I for one am not expecting anything so grand from binding. Though this might be touched upon by some of the other projects/jsrs Hans Mullers swing-framework thing? is that real?

From reading Scotts blog he'll be giving more away in the new year.
