Excluding files from the search database

Hey everyone! Is there a way to exclude certain files from the search
database other than using a config file and explicitly naming each
individual file you want indexed? In the JHUG, it mentions to use the
config file and explicitly list the names of the files you want indexed.
That is fine for small sets of files but if you large sets of files to be
indexed and want to exclude only a couple, then it is more troublesome. So
I'm looking for a easy way to exclude a small set of files without having to
list all the files in my directory and leaving out a couple in the config
file.

Thank you for your help!

Specify the files you want on the command line is the only other option.
