Mobicents Management Console
a new subproject has recently started, Mobicents Management Console (MMC), a web application aming at favouring SLEE management by allowing administrators to interact with Mobicents through a graphical interface via a common web browser.
Check out the project home page at https://mobicents-management.dev.java.net and read the introduction guide (http://wiki.java.net/bin/view/Communications/MobicentsManagementConsole) to get started with the console.
Mobicents Management Console is a J2EE web application deployed into the running instance of Tomcat inside JBoss server, acting as a middle layer between Mobicents and an administrator user presenting him an interactive interface accessible through a web browser which allows tipical JSLEE Operation & Management administration activities.
On the SLEE side MMC communicates with Mobicents through standard JSLEE management JMX interfaces, while on the client side communicates with the user's web browser through http. In addition, the console exploits recent and advanced web interface technologies making use of AJAX and CSS2 standards which let the user experience a better and more complete interaction with the running execution environment. For this reason the use of an up-to-date web browser is recommended.
At present, the console is composed by:
- Slee State Interface, which allows to display the state of the execution environment and to command start, stop and shutdown
- Components Browser, which allows to browse installed components, getting all the information about them and performing searches
- Deployable Units Browser, which allows to browse deployable units, perform searches, install and uninstall
Mobicents Management Console will be soon enriched of new elements in order to expose a wider set of useful functionalities that will allow the user to interact with Mobicents with more and more degrees-of-freedom.
Every idea is welcome!
