Metisse looks like something that should be mentioned in the "related technologies" wiki page.

The demo video even has cool music. :-)

Agreed, if you can send me a writeup I'll add it to the page.

BTW, how are the entries ordered on the "Related Technologies" wiki page? There doesn't seem to be any real organization, which is why I haven't just stuck this into the Wiki myself--I don't know where to insert it!

"Metisse is not a 3D desktop!"

Metisse is an X-based platform for HCI researchers to experiment with new window management techniques.

"Metisse is not focused on a particular kind of interaction (e.g. 3D) .... It is rather a tool for creating new types of desktop environments."

It currently has such features as on-the-fly zooming and rotating of windows (because you always wanted to type upside down!).

I think the order is just the order of insertion. I thought this was on the web page not the wiki, as it's in the wiki feel free to add this and reorder as you see fit.

Oddly enough, the page is not in the wiki even though it's linked from
within the Wiki. Anyway, I tacked Metisse on to the end of the list
(yay for commit privileges). The "related technologies" page really
does look like it could use some reorganizing... We'll see if I get
that kind of free time eventually. :-P
