Hi Everyone,
I am Paras Babu Tiwari from computer science department of Tribhuvan University.I am Master level student in Computer Science.Recently I participated in an International Conference that was organized in Nepal. I found the lg3d session presented by Hideya Kawahara is most interesting among others. Then after coming in my college I downloaded lg3d and demonstrated it in front of my faculty and friends. They are really impressed from it.Then here I formed the team of 6 students to participate in lg3d project. And it will be my pleasure if anybody suggest me how we can actively participate in this project ?

Hi Paras,

Big welcome from me too! :-)
Dave, thanks for the nice directions. I'd suggest you to play with LG3D and included apps, and start from where you folks are most interested in (e.g. app coding, system improvements, performance tuning, documentation, etc). I'll add a few possibly useful liks for you folks:

- Project Looking Glass - A Comprehensive Overview of the Technology (PDF 1.6MB)
https://lg3d-core.dev.java.net/files/documents/1834/30923/LG3D-Overview.pdf

- Project Looking Glass Tutorials
https://lg3d.dev.java.net/tutorial/index.html
(NOTE: it is under updating)

- Contributing to Project Looking Glass
https://lg3d.dev.java.net/contribute.html

Hope this helps,
hideya

Welcome :)

There are tons of things you can do, everything from testing to writing code
for it. Testing pretty much involves using the CVS and doing different
things until something breaks or you find a feature you might want to have
behave differently. Once this happens you can send a mail off to this list
and file am issue on the issuetracker.

The coding is the really exciting part. You can familiarise yourself with
the project-code and start writing small programs and maybe come up with
something new you would like to see in this enviroment. Once you have an
idea and maybe an initial framework you can apply for developers access to
the incubator. This way more people will get to try it out, find bugs and
maybe even help you write it.

These are just a few suggestions, hope they'll give you some ideas.

Cheers
/Dave
