Hey all,

First, great to see this project shaping up. It's a very useful service to the community.

A few things that I ran into when doing the install on Ubuntu (as a new Ubuntu user)

* Only the JRE seems to be available, not the JDK. Having the full JDK available would be very helpful.
* After installing the Sun JVM, it wasn't made the default. Typing "java -version" still resulted in gjc being invoked. Perhaps it's not a best practice to change the default? If that's the case, it would be nice if the documentation discussed how to make the Sun JVM the default, or the installer could provide that as an option.

Regards,
Matt

Matt:

Glad to hear that Sun Java on Ubuntu is useful for you!

Indeed the JDK *is* available! The package
name is sun-java5-jdk
FFI please see:
https://jdk-distros.dev.java.net/ubuntu-dev.html

In a terminal window you can insure that Sun Java
is the default for your system by doing this:
# update-java-alternatives --set java-1.5.0-sun

Please let us know if these solutions work for you!
