hello all,

I have a 2.6 p4 hyperthread, 512mb ddr. I am running win2000 pro, with j2se 1.5 runtime

what java.exe commandline arguments can i use to optimize the jvm performance/experience? how do i optimize the jvm for my current configuration, with in mind of the current win32 configurations of today.

Thanks in advance for all help.

It depends what you would like your jvm to do.
If you are using this machine to host server-side java then I would at least use the -server flag and a higher -Xmx value.

If you are using this as you dekstop PC for graphical java app I would stick to the defualt which is just fine.
You could also give mustang a try (java 6.0 prerelease) at
