I have update my lg3d source to latest CVS from today, after that LG
hangs on initialization of GlassySceneManager!

did you all have this issue or it just on my machine?
please test the latest CVS.

I have the same problem splash screen and then (ie: FreeFontPath: FPE "/usr/share/fonts/X11/misc" refcount is 2, should be 1; fixing) and then LG comes down

However, the wierd thing is: i was using LG quite fine and running it in both -app & -dev mode ok... i had installed it using the ubuntu package tool (along with lg3d-jdk and lg3d-java3d) and it worked perfectly from start...

Then today, i follow the guide to build up dev environment on netbeans, i follow it all they way... i build lg3d from netbeans, and its ok...

Now, i try running LG from netbeans or from the packages (two different LGs) and it no longer works...

What has happened?

(as for netbeans lg, i have latest from cvs, jdk 6 and latest java3d from daily builds...)

Ok, so today i did a routine upgrade of two ubuntu packages, and LG is back to Working FULL time (ie: all 3 modes, from the binary under gnome, as a stand-alone session, and compiled from cvs and run from NetBeans)

I dont know what exactly worked or what fixed it, but ill be looking in to it and trying to figure out why it works now...

Amir Bukhari

Thank you all.
I think it is related to some deadlock appear in Java3D 1.4 behaviour
scheduling. Paul has mentioned something like this on some issue (I can't
remember their number) and it should be now fixed daily build of Java 1.5.0

1.5.0

Oops, my mistake. I inadvertantly committed the code I was using to test my fix for the Java 3D Behavior scheduler. The code forced an assertion Error from the behavior.

It's fixed now, appologies for the mistake.

Hi Amir....

Same for me too. SplashScreen comes up, centre-window comes up (app-mode) and goes no further (black screen). Terminal also freezes.
A CTRL-C in terminal prints the following error:

FreeFontPath: FPE "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc:unscaled" refcount is 2, should be 1; fixing.

This is the error from lgserver.log (full log can be posted if rqd) :

Exception in thread "J3D-BehaviorScheduler-1" java.lang.AssertionError
