I have a webstart application with the following .jnlp file section:

......
......
......

but it produces no output. When I use the -Xprof flag it produces output. I've tried the other runhprof flags for file output but they produce nothing also. Is there something I'm doing wrong or can I not run hprof under webstart.

I'm using JDK 1.5_10. can you please tell me where to set -J -agentlib:hprof argument. Can anyone please give me a small code snippet ?

The JNLP file syntax chapters lists the arguments that can be specified with the java-vm-args attribute:
http://download.java.net/jdk6/docs/guide/javaws/developersguide/syntax.h...

If you want to use the HPROF agent then "javaws -J -agentlib:hprof=cpu=samples ..." should do it. You might want to use the -verbose option to verify that the expected arguments are passed through to the launched VM.
