Hi All,

What monitoring tools would you use when writing tests for a very large java solution which needs to be checked nightly or weekly in order to avoid performance degradation due to bugfixing and new functionality ? Preferably tools that show minimal impact of other processes running on the system.

I don't think that currentTimeMillis() and a profiler will do this time, but I'm open to all input. Anybody know of any good reliable monitors .. suggestions do not have to be cross platform ;)

I was wondering if anybody has an idea how Sun deals with performance tests for the JDK. They must have some kind of framework as well.

For JDK my first bug is the bugs parade - because if there are any performance degradation that people in the user community which uses utilise that area of slow-down will shout out loud.
