Hi,

i have the following Error :
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /usr/jdk1.5.0/jre/lib/i386/libj3dcore-ogl.so: libGL.so.1: cannot handle TLS data

is it in any way related to the :
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /usr/java/jdk1.5.0/jre/lib/i386/libj3dcore-ogl.so: /usr/java/jdk1.5.0/jre/lib/i386/libj3dcore-ogl.so: symbol glMultiDrawArraysEXT, version LIBGL not defined in file libGL.so.1

as it occurs in the same method : javax.media.j3d.MasterControl$24.run(Unknown Source)

I would guess that this is where the loadLibrary() call brings in your
OpenGL library at some point. Both errors indicate problems with the
JVM opening your GL library. One is to do with a missing symbol (a GL
extension which is probably not present), while the other is due to
loadLibrary() not being able to handle libraries which make use of
thread local storage (TLS) at some point.

I have got a similar problem on a machine with:

JDS 2.0, Athlon XP 1700+, Nvidia fx5200, 512RAM.

I tried different drivers form Nvidia, but the problem is persistent. I also followed the installation to the letter, twice to be sure.

Session binary hangs X. From within X I get apparently clean loading, a number appears and nothing happens. Logs indicate problems with GL library, but all the links in /usr/lib are correct, X starts with Nvidia welcome screen, all GL screensavers work fine.
I see that similar hardware works on Mandrake 10. What is wrong with JDS?

Could you please tell us what exact error you are encountering?

As for the UnsatisfiedLinkError on glMultiDrawArraysEXT, it has been fixed in Java 3D 1.3.2 build 4. Did you install it from the following site?
