Hello, all.

As wrote in another topic ( Collaboration... from dwarfy ), I think it's very important to implements 2.5D particular metaphors.

So if you LG3D community members have ideas regarding 2.5D metaphors, shall we discuss them?

At first, I'd like to ask LG3D owners about them.
I feel think directly because owners are working on and thinking about LG3D's API almost all everyday.

Perhaps they had already had good ideas??

Hi dai,

It would be great if you could lead this discussion!

One ironic situation is that owners (at least I) actually haven't spent enough time on the topic. Implementation of the API actually took a long time and we still have many bugs (and some administrative stuff). So, we'd appreciate your help on ideas and on fixing bugs. The current API is to cover the stuff have been implemented so far. It didn't involve any new ideas.

A good way to start discussion is to post an initial idea to start with. We've provided the LG3D demo as the starting point. Don't you have anything to share?

Ideas and bug fixings, OK.
Always focusing on apps, so I have not tried fixing bugs at all as I recall.

Thank you for your advice :)
Actually I do have an initial meta idea, listing unfavorable things which can be 2D-ness boundaries.

At first listing them as possible as we can.
And then connecting with each other.

By doing this, we could find the most unfavorable one.
(In other word, the most unfavorable root)

So if we were able to get rid of this root, we could break
the 2D-ness boundaries, I think.

Does anyone have any comment on this my idea??

Thanks,

Hi Dai,

Have you read the following document?

https://lg3d-core.dev.java.net/lg3d-ui-design.html

If not, please check it out. It became a bit old, but it should provide some background on what we were thinking and an approach we were considering to take.

Halu, everyone.

When it comes to 2.5D metaphors, the Fm3D might have them?
Can I check out it from CVS?? Has it been already committed??

What sort of metaphors do you have in mind?

Hello, deronj.

> What sort of metaphors do you have in mind?

In fact, small ideas have hit upon me so far.
Speaking of my BlackGoat, for instarnce, expressing layer of mails,
we can understand how many mails have arrived.

But, you know, this is tiny.
It may be good but is NOT SUFFICIENT to break the boundary of the 20 years 2D-ness.

Having felt this, I thought it'd be great to do brain storming on the internet and hear everyone's opinions.

That's why I submitted this topic.
