I just want to inform you all that lg3d (packaged with the LiveCD) has been attracting some interest this weekend:

It was mentioned on OSNews.com, got listed on distrowatch and reviewed on tuxmachines.org (http://www.tuxmachines.org/node/3171). It can now even be purchased from some CD-publishers (http://www.linuxshop.de/shop/catalog/index.php?language=us). From sourceforge about 11.000 ISOs were downloaded from Friday to Sunday.

So far no serious bugs have been reported, so it's quite a nice start...

I can't thank you guys enough for all your hard work to all your innovative people developing the project and to Christian for the awesome work of putting the livecd togheter.

What you guys are doing is to shape how people will work on their computers for many years to come and that take skills, dedication and most importantly an open mind.

Hats of to all of you.

FYI, here in the UK, The Linux Format magazine has just released its January edition, along with lg3d-live 2.3a on its coverdiscs and a half-page spread covering the, quote, "Super Cool Desktop"

...Nice One :-)

Hi Cost,

Any chance that you have some time to build a LiveCD with the lg3d 1.0 code base ?

Cheers

As I am currently only using OS X on my Macbook, I don't have a Linux system at hand (to create a new LiveCD).

However this looks like a nice opportunity to give the new
VMWare Fusion a try...

I'll keep you informed about my progress - results probably
won't be available before New Year.

Happy holidays!

Christian

OK, I've begun working yesterday...

Had some trouble with VMware so i am using Parallels Desktop.

It's really fun working because - although my Macbook
uses an integrated Graphics solution (by Inte, 64MB max.) -
I can run lg3d-app/lg3d-dev inside the virtualized envirnoment at reasonable speed :):

My compliments also Christian. I'm currently posting this through firefox on the live cd running on my laptop (1.6 Centrino with 1GB Ram and an ati raedon mobility 9700 - so running lg3d-app version)!

The speed and responsiveness running of ram is fantastic! With the integrated changes that come with the new release it'll look even better! Fantastic work.

I'll be carrying this CD around with me!

Now I just need to get the wireless card running and it'll be even better. But that is not for this forum :)
