Hi

I have a scanned image in JPG(60KB),which I have converted into tiff(1MB).But the converted tiff is taking more memory.I want to compress this tiff file so that it can take memory as long as its JPG equivalent.

Thank you

The only way you would likely approach the JPEG compression ratio is if you
are using JPEG-in-TIFF compression. Please see

http://java.sun.com/products/java-media/jai/forDevelopers/jai-imageio-1_...

for more information. Be forewarned however that not all TIFF readers support
JPEG-in-TIFF. If your data happen to be bilevel you might consider the ITU T.4
or T.6 compression types instead.
