[JAI] Create empty tiff image

5 replies [Last post]

Hello all,

I know this sounds trivial, but I need to be able to create an empty
tiff page (all white) at 200x200 resolution. Can this be done with JAI
or ImageIO?

Thanks,

Is anyone -- or anyone you know -- seeking work in the Animation field? Read on for details ... An
animation factory in Santa Maria is hiring for several key positions...

Please contact Dan Walker if you are interested, for I am sure he gets some type of bonus for
assisting with a hire. His e-mail address is:

Do you mean the TIFF has an IFD without data or that it contains data
that are all white? Is it 1-bit per pixel?

You should be able to use the "Constant" JAI operation to create an in-memory
image and then just write it out. If it is WhiteIsZero, you could just create
a BufferedImage or TiledImage directly as its pixels will initially be all
zero.
