I haven't read it completely, but just the headline scares me:
Microsoft Supplemental UI Library for Visual J# .NET v1.1
Just in this headline are some words misleading:
1.) Microsoft - Did you ever got something really good from this company? Oh yes, my IntelliMouse is working fine!
2.) Visual J# - I am not an expert in here, but I wouldn't put J# and Java on one stage. J# is jsut a way for M$ to draw more people on the .Net thing.
3.) .Net - This will never be compatible with any other platform and this doesn't fit to the Java spirit.
and 4.) V 1.1... Well if a version 2000 of a Microsoft product is not even stable, how should a 1.1 version work :)
OK, enough kidding. The thing is, this UI will only be compatible with Windows, where is the benefit? If I have an Java app that just run on Windows I could use C or whatever to code it :(
Do you remember Visual J++ and WindowsForms?
