Please don't!

The release cycles of the JRE are too far apart which guarantees you have a far less buggy release outside of the JRE then you have inside the JRE.

Parts of JDNC, specifically the Swing Extensions layer, are indeed candidates for inclusion in future versions of J2SE. The list of specific components that might be assimilated is TBD, and will depend a lot on the community feedback.

While J2SE release cycles have been long historically, the situation is improving significantly, as Sun has committed to posting more frequent snapshots of builds on java.com. These should help developers get bug fixes in a timely manner. With wider and more frequent testing of these snapshots, lead time for final releases is likely to be shorter as well.
