Yes, it works within XMLSpy. Haven't tried it with oXygen, though.

The JDNC XSD is invalid for a number of reasons (most notably it
references namespaces that weren't imported by that XSD - though other
XSDs have imported them and it attempts to change the mixed attribute
of a type in a sub type). XMLSpy is a pretty poor implementation of
the XSD standard unfortunately and it causes a number of questions on
the Xerces list.

The JDNC schema doesn't currently parse with Xerces and looks like it
will take a fair bit of work to correct.

Could you please be specific about which namespace is not being imported? Are you referring to the import commented out in om-jdnc-1_0.xsd?

Also, which mixed attribute of a type within a subtype are you referring to?

Could you please file a bug mentioning Xerces troubles with the JDNC Schema?

Thanks,

Ramesh
