Another ColumnControlButton question

Our users really like the ability to hide columns, but they state that they don't like having to click the button and select a column to hide each time. They want to be able to select multiple columns at one time. At first glance, it seemed like it would be easy to do. Just don't have the panel dismiss when a selection is made, but it seems that a JPopupMenu does this by default. Would this be something that is easy to implement currently? It seems that it would be logical for the panel to stay visible after a selection if the user could dismiss the popup by clicking the button again.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
Erik

Hi Erik,

reasonable requirement - I love to get real world feedback! As to ease
of implementation: not sure - I faintly remember doing it some time back
but forgot how much of a hack it was.

Would you please file an RFE so I don't forget to dig into my code piles
- after JavaOne?

Thanks
Jeanette

Done. It's issue #28.
If only it was as easy as preventing the JPopupMenu from closing when an action is performed...

Thanks
Erik

no, not supported.

It has low priority because

- easy enough to implement a custom ColumnPopup doinf exactly that
- not standard behaviour

my incubator section has some examples for a custom control
