jdic Browser problem

Hi all,
I am using Mozilla 1.4 and JRE 1.4.2_04 on SUSE 8.1.

Problem 1: When running the demo program Browser, I am prompted for username and password for proxy. When I clicked on OK, the pop up window (mozembed-linux-gtk1.2) just remains there. And the browser does not work after that.

Do you have any idea what the problem is?

Problem 2: I try to connect to our local web server within our intranet from the demo program Browser; the server needs login credential. After the credentials are supplied, Browser freezes.

Any help please. Thanks.

Hi Mayank,

I'm not sure with the causes by your descriptions. But I think it should work
in your environment. This seems like a profile setting problem.

JDIC Browser checks and uses the last default profile settings of Mozilla.
And it uses the system default Mozilla (checking from the GConf database, or under $PATH).

So, please make sure Mozilla 1.4 (you are currently using it) executable (mozilla) is set
in the GConf database (via the "Preferred Application" in the bottom-left start menu, or
under $PATH, so that JDIC Browser could find and embed it. Then make sure with the default
profile, the proxy setting is set.

Please try these out and give the feedback.

I think you are using JDIC release for Linux, if not, please use that version.
