Browser: access with authentication does not work

Hi!

I just embedded JDIC into my webstart application. Problem is, that the Internet Explorer does not show the URL because it can not access it. The server is an MS IIS with authentication (NTLM) switched on. My machine is logged into the domain and my account has sufficient rights.

Normally I would expect my JRE to pass the auth infos or to get a login window from windows.

Is there a workaround somewhere?

Hi,

This problem was also reported in below thread:
http://www.javadesktop.org/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=5081&tstart=0

Which is fixed. See details at:
https://jdic.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=97

It will be included in the next release.

Hi, I have a URL that has "Basic Authentication" and when I embed IE I can't access those pages. On the other hand if I open IE directly I can (although I have to go thru the login prompt). But if I choose to save my settings and then try again with the JDIC embedded IE it works. So I need to figure out how to get the authentication in the embedded IE (in my java app). Any suggestions?

Hi,

There was another thread talking about this problem:
http://www.javadesktop.org/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=5081&tstart=0

And there is already a reported bug:
https://jdic.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=97

I confirmed that it happens with embedding IE on Windows, and not with embedding Mozilla on Windows/Unix.

I didn't get time to fix it yet. I would appreciate any help on this.

Thanks,
-George.
