Hello,

is there a way to change the tooltips of JavaHelp while maintaining the locale? Maybe something like: Please use now the Constants_xx.class file!? I am afraid there is nothing similar to

UIManager.put("FileChooser.upFolderToolTipText","myTranslatedToolTip");

I assume that you're asking about the tooltips for the navigators. Those
are controlled by view->text in the helpset file. If you create a
localized version of the helpset file then it will achieve what your
asking for.

However, I assume that's not what you're asking for. Give me another
idea of what your trying to do.

Hello Roger,

thank you for your reply. Yes, I should have been more precise (working already too long on the problem). I mean the tooltips for the Buttons in the toolbar: Previous, Next, Print, Page Setup. They can be translated in the Constants_xx.java file, where xx stands for a locale.
So changing the locale should generally work. But I am looking for a way to keep the locale and just changing the text.

Hello Roger,

I just got a solution to my original posting in forum.java.sun. If you like, you may have a look at http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=42&thread=73350&start=0&range...

And if you have any idea what I could check to get
java -jar _javaHelpHome_\jh2.0\demos\bin\hsviewer.jar
-helpset _javaHelpHome_\jh2.0\demos\hsjar\idehelp_de.jar

display the localized tooltips properly (also described in the mentioned trail), of course, you are most welcome.
