We have a custom helpviewer for our application and we also
had the same problem.

Add this before you set the look and feel of your help viewer:

UIManager.put("EditorPane.selectionBackground",Color.lightGray);

This will change the highlight color from dark blue to light gray.

Thanks,

- Raja.

Subject: Re: [JAVAHELP] Search Highlight Color

We have experienced a problem with search highlight (dark blue color)
using Windows Look&Feel. I have a couple questions

1) Is it possible to change the hightlight color? If not, how do you
remove search highlight?

2) Is it possible to set the Look&Feel of JavaHelp (Default L&F)
independent of the calling application (Windows L&F)? The higlight
problem seems to happen to Windows L&F.

Thanks,
Alex

Below is my configuration

Windows Look&Feel
JRE 1.4
JavaHelp 1.3.1

Also fixed in an upcoming release of the JDK.

I am using the jre 1.4.2 (to be precise build 1.4.2-b28) with JavaHelp 2.0_01 and the Windows L&F.
Unfortunately changing the selectionBackgroud of the JEditorPane is no option for us.

In which release (Of JavaHelp? Of the JDK?) will this behaviour be fixed?

Thx,
Christian
