Hi,

Does anyone have any idea if there is an easy way of adding a dismiss button to a popup window? Perhaps another solution would be to use a secondary window and make it look like a popup. The problem is that I'm too new to Java Help to know where to begin!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Nick

My initial thought is no, though you might be able to do it with a
custom button on a menu bar. However, a popup window disappears when it
looses focus. That's why there isn't needed in the first place.

I agree that you shouldn't need a dismiss button but 4 out 5 people (developers not end users) who have reviewed my initial help files have asked if I could add a dismiss button. The problem seems to be that my popups often contain quite large screen shots that consequently cover a large part of the help window which then doesn't leave much space to move the cursor back into.

For the large popups use a secondary window.
