Java Virtual Launcher Fatal Exception Occurred

I downloaded the trial version of RoboHelp X5 to try it out before upgrading to it. I am using JH 2.0_01 and J2SDK, 1.4.2 that came with NetBeans IDE v 3.5.1 bundled in.

Initially, I created a small project and was able to generate it and view the JH output several times. But now RoboHelp generates the JH fine, but before it can display I get a Java Virtual Machine Launcher fatal exception occurred message and I cannot view the output. Any ideas as to what might be causing this? Someone suggested uninstalling and reinstalling the SDK, but that did not help.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Without the exception output no one will be able to help.

However...

Test the generated helpset with the hsviewer that is part of the
JavaHelp distribution. If it works there the problem is with RoboHelp
and not with JavaHelp or JVM.

I tried to test the generated helpset with the hsviewer as you suggested, but that didn't work. Thanks for your help, anyway!

Ok so there is some type of error being generated. In a MSDOS command
line window do the following:

change to the jh2.0/demos/bin directory
java -jar hsviewer.jar

Enter your helpset and then report back what the error is.

Here is everything from the MSDOS command screen. I'm sure I'm doing something really stupid wrong, but since this worked at first, I'm not sure what it could be. Thanks for the help.

That's easy. The class doesn't exist. Who ever created the HelpSet set
the merge type incorrectly (Or the mergetype in a TOC or Index). It
should be "javax.help.UniteAppendMerge" not "unite-append". unite-append
was used in the beta releases but was changed in part of the later
development. Make sure this isn't something you're generating or
setting. If it is something RoboHelp is doing it just shows they didn't
test the results of the output with the JavaHelp runtime library. At
least they didn't test the v2.0 features.
