Extra spaces in JavaHelp

When I create Help in RoboHelp and then generate a .jar file to be read in JavaHelp, all font in bold, italics, or underline appear with an extra space on either side. I've taken out the spaces in RoboHelp--which is brutal for proofreading but does look better in JH. However, there's still an extra space between bolded/italicized/underlined font and periods, commas, or other punctuation. Does anyone have a better workaround or an actual fix for this problem?

I also have this problem generating JavaHelp from RoboHelp X5. Let me know if you figure out how to solve it. Thanks.

I found the resolution to this in another forum. For bold text, RoboHelp tags it as . If you replace these with bold or strong tags (either seemed to work for me), the extra spaces go away.

Yeah, I figured this one out too by looking at the TrueCode. This is a REAL pain in the butt, and I think it's because RoboHelp "doesn't use pure HTML" to create topics (that's a direct quote from RH Support).

I also found out that you can't just do a global "find and replace" on the style in Dreamweaver (since RH doesn't believe in a project-wide global search and replace), because that will change all the other non-bold related styles to in the code. It's going to add hours and days to my project, which will eventually have several thousand topics.

We shoulda stuck with Helen...
